What to do in Warsaw on a layover (3–6 hours)

Stuck in Warsaw for a few hours between trains, flights or buses? Good news: the city centre is compact, walkable and genuinely worth it — even on a short layover. Here's how to make the most of 3 to 6 hours without dragging your suitcase around.

First: drop your bags

Sightseeing with a wheelie case on cobblestones is miserable. Leave your luggage at a central luggage storage first — we're at Nowy Świat 22, a few minutes from the Royal Route and well connected to the main station and both airports. Bags are under 24/7 CCTV and you pick them up with a simple PIN, any time until 3 a.m.

3 hours: the Royal Route highlights

• Walk up Nowy Świat and Krakowskie Przedmieście — Warsaw's prettiest avenue, lined with cafés.
• Reach the Old Town (Stare Miasto), a UNESCO-listed reconstruction — Castle Square, the Royal Castle, the Market Square.
• Grab pierogi on the way (there's a pierogi spot right at our address).

6 hours: add a park or a museum

With more time, stroll down to Łazienki Park (royal gardens, peacocks, the Palace on the Isle) or visit the POLIN Museum or the Warsaw Uprising Museum. All are 10–20 minutes from the centre by tram or a short ride.

Getting back in time

Keep about 45 minutes' buffer to collect your bags and reach the station or the airport bus. Warszawa Centralna is one tram stop away; the airport train and bus 175 leave from nearby.
